Acute Stroke Film - Part 1 - 3
Allthough it is widely communicated that the onset of an acute stroke or TIA constitutes an emergency, still, the time it takes for patients to get to hospital is the major limiting factor in receiving appropriate treatment.
To increase the awareness of the different roles and responsibilities within a stroke team, and/or as an educational tool to optimise the flow of stroke patient management, Boehringer Ingelheim has produced a 3-part, informative acute stroke film.
The first part of the film, depicting the emergency situation as well as the causes and pathophysiology of an acute stroke, can be viewed or downloaded here.
The second episode, shows the arrival of the stroke patient at the emergency department of the stroke centre, including diagnosis and treatment. To view or download the video, please click here
The third and final section, dealing with the further management of the patient and rehabilitation after an acute ischaemic stroke, can be viewed and downloaded here.
